PCF Appoints Three New Members to its Board of Governors

The Pinellas Community Foundation (PCF) Board of Governors has appointed three new members to fill open seats.

The Pinellas Community Foundation (PCF) Board of Governors has appointed three new members to fill open seats — Bo Brault, Elithia Stanfield and Freddy Williams.

“The success of our organization is tied to the strength of our Board of Governors,” said Duggan Cooley, Pinellas Community Foundation CEO. “We are excited to welcome Bo, Elithia and Freddy. These three new members will share their expertise and community leadership experience for the benefit of Pinellas County.”

The PCF Board of Governors is comprised of 15 community leaders appointed by virtue of their expertise. Over the years, this board has stood as a “who’s who” of Pinellas County leadership in the areas of law, accounting, social services and the arts. Together this board sets the strategic direction for the Pinellas Community Foundation and ensures the assets entrusted to it are utilized for the greatest community benefit.

Bo S. Brault began her career with Gregory, Sharer & Stuart Certified Public Accountants and Business Consultants (GSS) in 2005, advancing steadily within the firm from staff to shareholder. Bo is primarily responsible for audits, reviews, and compliance for a wide range of clientele including nonprofit organizations, financial service and insurance providers, professional employer organizations and other service providers, both publicly and privately held.

A leader of the firm’s Not-for-Profit Industry Service Team, Bo works with a wide variety of nonprofit organizations. Among other responsibilities, she leads assurance teams in the preparation of financial statements, the performance of audit fieldwork and review of results. Bo also manages federal and Florida single audits.

Bo is also a valued member of the Insurance Industry Service Team, providing accounting and assurance services to a variety of risk-bearing entities including P&C, PEO, WC, Life, Warranty and NFIP.

Bo also leads the firm's recruiting efforts. In this capacity, she develops relationships with local university professors, presents at Beta Alpha Psi, the international honor society for accountants and other financial services professionals and interviews candidates for identified positions.

Elithia V. Stanfield worked in the non-profit sector early in her career, going on to 30 years in government service. Initially working with the Juvenile Welfare Board, Elithia retired in 2010 from her position as an Assistant County Administrator for the Pinellas Board of County Commissioners.

She has served on boards of numerous organizations. Professionally, Ms. Stanfield was President of the Florida Association for Intergovernmental Relations and President of the National Association of County Intergovernmental Relations Officials. She currently serves on the Board of the Area Agency on Aging and the City of Pinellas Park’s Library Advisory Council (Past President).

Committed to serving the community, Elithia also served on the boards of Eckerd College; Bayfront Medical Center; American Red Cross; Pinellas County Education Foundation; Junior League of St. Petersburg (Past President); United Way's Emergency Food and Shelter Program Board (Past Chair); and Pinellas County Schools’ Busing Task Force (Co-Chair), and its District Monitoring Advisory Committee.

Recognitions of her contributions to the community and her profession include: Resource Center for Women (1991); Suncoast Girl Scout Council's Women of Distinction Hall of Fame (1992); Junior League of St. Petersburg's Mailande Holland Barton Award (1990) and its Virginia H. Lazzara Sustainer of the Year Award (2016); Eckerd College's Suzanne Armacost Medal (1994); Upper Pinellas County Soroptimist’s 2004 Women Honoring Women Award for Volunteerism; Academy Prep 2018 Five Fabulous Females; Theresa Lintz Memorial Award (2001) for excellence in local government advocacy; and the Florida Shore & Beach Preservation Association’s Public Service Award (2010).

Freddy Williams is a proud Boys & Girls Club alumnus and was named President & CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast in July 2016. As President & CEO, he is responsible for the overall strategy, vision, fundraising, and operations of the organization. Additionally, he serves as a National Board Member for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Professional Association.

Before joining the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast, Freddy served in executive leadership roles for Boys & Girls Club organizations in Lake and Alachua County. Before dedicating his career to the Boys & Girls Clubs, he worked as a political strategist. He also served as a program consultant for United Way to develop high school graduation and family engagement strategies in partnership with Harvard University’s Family Research Project.

Freddy is a graduate of the esteemed Harvard University’s Performance Measurement and Management Program. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Florida and his master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Florida International University.

He received post graduate certificates in Nonprofit Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University and Fundraising Management from Indiana University.

Freddy’s leadership goes beyond the Clubs. In addition to his nomination to the Boards of Directors for the Pinellas Community Foundation, he serves as a Member of Forbes’ National Nonprofit Council, the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce, and Leadership Tampa Bay. He is also an executive coach and mentor for new CEO’s for Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
