Pier House 60 Garage Fire Caused by Vehicle

No injuries were reported in the Thursday afternoon blaze.

Motorists traveling along Clearwater’s Coronado Drive Thursday afternoon may have found themselves caught in a bit of a traffic jam.

That, according to Clearwater Fire & Rescue officials, was due to partial road closings prompted by a fire in the garage of Pier House 60.

The agency said a vehicle fire broke out in the 101 Coronado Drive hotel’s garage around 1 p.m. It seems a 2000 Ford Expedition on the second floor of the garage went up in flames. The fire was put out quickly, officials noted in an email to media. No injuries were reported.
