Pre-Owned Apple® Device Business Experimac Thrives in Clearwater

On Sept. 6, 2016 Derrin Jones, along with his wife Nadia Jones, began

leveraging his years of experience in business ownership and over fifteen years of business

management to open his Experimac, the concept that provides pre-owned Apple®

computers and devices; repair and upgrade services for laptops, phones and tablets; trade-ins

of existing devices; and sales of accessories. Jones’ Experimac, located at 2475 McMullen

Booth Rd. Suite #G (at the corner of McMullen Booth Rd and Enterprise Rd), is the

concept from industry veteran United Franchise Group to serve customers throughout Pinellas

County by providing premium Apple ® devices without the premium price tag.

Looking to return to the workplace a mere four months after being diagnosed with

Leukemia and receiving a bone marrow transplant in 2010, Jones started on his entrepreneurial

journey. Prior to opening his Experimac, Jones opened Internet Retailers, LLC, an eCommerce

company responsible for creating and supporting websites that deliver niche products to market.

With his past entrepreneurial experience and his Bachelors of Science from Indiana University

in Informatics and Information Technology, Jones had all the tools he needed to open his

Experimac business.

“Experimac has such a great brand story,” said Jones. “Starting in a garage like Apple

and growing through grass-roots marketing, word of mouth and providing great customer

service and value, it seemed like a no-brainer.”

The newest addition to the United Franchise Group, a family of brands that includes

backed by a reputation of business success. This, said Jones, gave him confidence in the

in,” Jones said. “We are members of three Chambers of Commerce in Pinellas County and are

also members of a local Business Network International chapter as well as are active in monthly

community events.”

Jones is excited about what is to come for his Experimac location, which is already very

well-received. Jones and his wife Nadia plan to open five additional locations throughout

Pinellas County in the coming years. Customers of all ages are looking for high-quality Apple®
