Reclaimed Water Restrictions in Place for North Pinellas

Temporary restrictions on use of reclaimed water for north Pinellas County residents are an effort to help the reservoir recover.

North Pinellas County reclaimed-water customers are restricted to using the water twice weekly.

The temporary restrictions are in place until seasonal rainfall returns to normal. It is an effort to help the reservoir recover, officials say levels are so low it could potentially damage pump equipment.

This affects about 4,800 reclaimed water customers.

The Pinellas County Utilities started isolating the system to allow it to refill June 20. The restrictions went into place Thursday.

Restrictions are expected to last until early July.

Watering is not allowed between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
