Stand Your Ground Shooter Bonds Out Of Jail
The Clearwater man charged with manslaughter in the shooting of 28-year-old Markeis McGlockton bonded out of jail today.

CLEARWATER, FL -- The Clearwater man charged with manslaughter in the July 19 shooting of 28-year-old Markeis McGlockton at a Clearwater convenience store bonded out of jail Monday, Sept. 24.
After sitting in jail for six weeks, Michael Drejka, 48, was able to raise $10,000 in bail, the required 10 percent of his $100,000 bond, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Drejka claimed the stand your ground defense after shooting McGlockton during a confrontation in the store parking lot. McGlockton shoved Drejka to the ground and Drejka claimed he was in fear for his life when he pulled out a gun and shot McGlockton, who was unarmed.

However, after reviewing the case, Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney Bernie McCabe decided to charge Drejka with manslaughter.
On Aug. 14, Pinellas County Judge Joseph Bulone refused Drejka's request to have his bond reduced. Drejka is reportedly unemployed due to a disability.

As a condition of his release, Drejka must surrender all guns he owns to the sheriff, is prohibited from leaving Pinellas County and must wear an ankle monitor.
