Sunny Weekend Ahead

Rain chances are quite low throughout the weekend.

Tampa Bay area residents hoping to enjoy the great outdoors this weekend are likely to find the weather cooperative.

The National Weather Service is predicting a rather sunny weekend with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s most days. The overnight lows are anticipated to reach the low 70s with mostly clear nights on tap Friday through Sunday.

When Columbus Day arrives, however, rain chances creep back into the picture. As of Friday morning, the service set a 20 percent chance of rain for Monday. A cold front is expected to move in around Tuesday and with it a greater chance for rain.

For those who plan to take advantage of the mild weather, don’t forget stingray season isn’t quite over. The Clearwater Beach Patrol, in fact, issued a warning that beachgoers should ready themselves to do the “stingray shuffle” to avoid unpleasant encounters with these critters.
