AT&T Pioneers Volunteer at Make a Difference Fishing Tournament

Volunteers helped cut bait, record catches and serve lunch to participants at the Clearwater Beach tournament on Saturday.

Red Tide didn’t stop the Make a Difference Fishing Tournament in Clearwater on Saturday. Adults with special needs got to spend the morning fishing on Pier 60 – with help from AT&T Pioneers volunteers – then got to take a new fishing pole home with them.

The participants were thrilled when they reeled in a fish. Volunteers from AT&T Pioneers then helped them measure the fish, determine the type and record it all.

More than 25 AT&T Pioneers members provided lunch and volunteered their time to ensure adults with special needs enjoyed a morning of fishing.

Leaders from AT&T Pioneers chapters throughout Florida joined forces to support Saturday’s tournament. The AT&T Pioneers, a volunteer organization comprised of current and former AT&T employees, served hamburgers and hot dogs to participants. They also helped cut bait and assisted the participants as they reeled in fish.

“We were happy to be able to help make this fishing tournament a success for all of the participants and make an impact on the Tampa Bay community,” said Gloria Pazel, national board member of AT&T Pioneers.
