Tampa Bay: 6 Things to Do This Weekend
A number of events are planned throughout the Tampa Bay area the weekend of July 8-10.

Tampa Bay, FL — Tampa Bay area residents looking for things to do around the region will find no shortage of options this weekend.
Here are just a few of the events and attractions that might be worth checking out over the weekend:
Sarasota Farmers Market

This event has been a Sarasota fixture since 1979. It takes place at 5 Points Park, 1592 Main St., from 7 a.m. to noon, rain or shine on Saturday. The event features local produce, plants, prepared foods and artisans, among other attractions. There’s no cost to enter, but folks will want to bring cash to buy some of the goodies up for grabs.
Downtown Bradenton Ghost Walks

Those who don’t mind a few chills running up their spines might want to check out this guided tour of Bradenton’s most “haunted” spots. The guided tours must be booked in advance and feature stops at the Manatee Players Theater, Fort Braden, Hampton Inn and the Historical Courthouse. Tours take off from The Riverwalk at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights. To book a spot, email psobfl@gmail.com or call 941-704-0621. Spaces are limited and tickets do come at a price.
Bark at the Ball Park
This event benefits The Humane Society of Pinellas. Set for Saturday, July 9, starting at 5 p.m., the party features concessions, local vendors and a pet/owner lookalike contest. The fun takes place at Bright House Field, 601 Old Coachman Road in Clearwater. For more information, visit the humane society online.
Tarpon Springs ‘Night in the Islands’
Head to Tarpon Springs’ Dodecanese Boulevard to soak up the best of the city’s rich Greek culture. The fun takes place along the sponge docks and features Greek dancing, outdoor dining and lots of music. Free dance lessons will be offered from 6 to 7 p.m., but the fun continues until 11 p.m. or so. For more details, visit the sponge docks online.
Lowry Park Zoo’s Summer Sunset Celebration
Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo is giving visitors a chance to see what animals do after the sun sets. The zoo’s new Summer Sunset Celebration runs Fridays and Saturdays from about 4 to 10 p.m. Admission prices vary. To find out more about the event, check out this related story.
Cruisin’ at Wiregrass
This semi-regular car show at Pasco County’s Shops at Wiregrass takes place Sunday, July 10, from noon until 6 p.m. Visitors to the 28211 Paseo Drive outdoor mall in Wesley Chapel will find a number of classic rides to check out.
