At a city commission meeting, the chief and a Flock representative detailed what data is collected, how searches are logged and monitored, and promised written answers and a workshop to explain how the system is used locally.

Family of Harlow Tran Sues Coral Springs, Alleging Police Pursuit Over Window Tint Led to 6-Year-Old's Death (coralspringstalk.com) — The family of 6-year-old Harlow Tran is suing the City of Coral Springs, alleging a police attempt to stop a driver over dark window tint escalated into an improper pursuit that ended in the child’s death. Filed in Broward County court, the wrongful-death suit argues the officer should have broken off the chase, while the city maintains the officer followed department policy.
   

3. ‘Worst Destruction I've Ever Seen': Coral Springs Rescue Team Honored After Venezuela Mission (tapinto.net) — Coral Springs firefighters and city staff who helped rescue a man trapped for eight days in a collapsed Venezuelan shopping center were formally honored by the City Commission this week. Seven local personnel deployed with Florida Task Force 2 after June’s devastating earthquakes, describing the destruction as the worst they’ve ever seen and saying the city’s recognition gives them added motivation to keep serving.
   

4. Wrong-way driver who crashed in Broward, fought law enforcement arrested, FHP says (nbcmiami.com) — A wrong-way driver on State Road 869 near Coral Ridge Drive crashed into a guardrail and then allegedly fought with Coral Springs Police and Broward deputies before being arrested. The 43-year-old man was taken to a hospital for evaluation and faces charges including resisting an officer with violence, driving without a license, and possession of a controlled substance.
