Today's riddle: What is seen in the middle of March and April that can’t be seen at the beginning or end of either month? 🤔 (Answer below!)
• Judge: Gobuty owns disputed Cortez canal (islander.org) — A recent court ruling confirms that a disputed canal by Hunters Point is privately owned by Cortez Road Investments, bolstering the developer’s position against Cortez Village Marina and nearby homeowners. While ownership is settled, key questions about trespass, damages and other claims are still headed for future legal battles that could affect canal access and dock use in Cortez.

• RoadWatch – 07-15-2026 (islander.org) — If you drive Cortez Bridge or Cortez Road West, expect concrete barriers and lane impacts through mid‑August, especially near 124th and 125th streets. The update also notes ongoing work on 75th Street in Bradenton and reminds riders that the free island trolley still connects Coquina Beach, Anna Maria and mainland bus hubs.
