• Pedestrian safety systems being added to several Manatee County drawbridges (mysuncoast.com) — If you rely on Cortez Road to get on or off the island, expect intermittent night lane and sidewalk closures as FDOT installs new pedestrian and bicycle safety systems on the Sarasota Pass drawbridge. Similar upgrades are happening on the Anna Maria and Longboat Key bridges, with work expected to wrap up by late spring.
