While ownership is settled, key questions about trespass, damages and other claims are still headed for future legal battles that could affect canal access and dock use in Cortez.
   

• RoadWatch – 07-15-2026 (islander.org) — If you drive Cortez Bridge or Cortez Road West, expect concrete barriers and lane impacts through mid‑August, especially near 124th and 125th streets.
