Davie Police are still investigating, with no arrests announced yet, and prosecutors will review the case to decide on possible charges, leaving the family frustrated and fearful while they wait.
   

• Flooding closes school, impacts voting and covers roads in South Florida. Why is it raining so much? (nbcmiami.com) — Heavy rain has dumped more than five inches on Davie, flooding roads and forcing St. Bonaventure Catholic School in town to close for the day. The same slow-moving storms that soaked Sunrise and Weston have overwhelmed drainage, but forecasters say conditions should gradually improve later this week as drier air moves in.
   

• DeSantis appointee Adam Cervera wins four-year term on Broward School Board (sun-sentinel.com) — Davie voters are now represented by Adam Cervera on the Broward School Board, after he won the District 6 seat that includes Davie, Weston, Cooper City and parts of Sunrise and Plantation. His victory, backed by the Broward Teachers Union despite his DeSantis appointment and Republican registration, secures a four-year term starting November 17.
