• County freezes capital projects as tax vote looms (palmbeachpost.com) — Palm Beach County has frozen more than $600 million in projects, including a $232 million overhaul of the South County Administrative Complex and a $25 million replacement of the Aqua Crest pool in Delray Beach, pending November’s tax referendum. Residents west of Delray Beach could also see delays to a long-sought Lyons Road overpass, as commissioners weigh how a potential homestead exemption expansion might blow a $400 million annual hole in county revenues.
   

• Delray Beach nonprofit helps low-income families buy homes for a fraction of market price (wptv.com) — Delray Beach’s Community Land Trust is helping low- and moderate-income families become homeowners at prices far below today’s market, often around $275,000 with grants. Working with the city’s CRA, the nonprofit keeps land costs off buyers’ plates, manages 146 affordable units, and has more homes in the pipeline for local residents.
   

• Arts Garage Doodle Art Fundraiser in Delray Beach to benefit local arts programs (wptv.com) — An online Celebrity Doodle Auction from Arts Garage in downtown Delray Beach is raising money to keep local arts programs thriving. Through August 12, residents can bid on one-of-a-kind celebrity sketches, with all proceeds supporting accessible performances, exhibitions, and education in Delray and across Palm Beach County.
