FPL and FCC Environmental Services miss proposal deadline for new incinerator in Miami-Dade amid pushback (wsvn.com) — Miami-Dade’s plan to replace the county trash incinerator that burned in Doral in 2023 has hit a snag, as Florida Power & Light and FCC Environmental Services missed Tuesday’s deadline to submit a joint proposal. County commissioners, including former Doral mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez, say the entire process is now on hold while they await a new deadline and more details on costs, location, and community benefits. 
2. Police: Homeless Walmart worker confesses fraud was to pay for motel in Miami-Dade (local10.com) — Police say a Walmart employee was arrested at the Doral Supercenter after allegedly using fraudulent returns to load gift cards and take cash, totaling more than $850. Officers report he told them he was trying to pay for a motel, and he now faces several fraud and theft charges in Miami-Dade court.
3. USDA restricts 28 PACA violators (bluebookservices.com) — A Doral-based company, Price International Trading LLC, has been sanctioned by the USDA for failing to pay more than $120,000 owed in a produce dispute, and is now restricted from operating in the PACA-regulated produce industry. The action is part of a nationwide enforcement sweep against 28 businesses that did not meet payment obligations to sellers of fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables.
4. Video shows off-duty Hialeah cop's DUI arrest after crash involving garbage truck near Doral (local10.com) — Video newly obtained by Local 10 shows deputies responding to a December crash near Doral where an off-duty Hialeah police lieutenant was arrested on suspicion of DUI after colliding with a garbage truck. The footage captures investigators questioning him, placing him in handcuffs, and later documenting his refusal of sobriety tests, while his employment status with Hialeah police remains under review.
