Get Out! DFAC Unveils New Wing and New Exhibits
With the weather revealing subtle signs of cooling, the temptation to get out is strong.

Give in and youβll find lots of things to do this weekend in Dunedin. Check out these free or low-cost top weekend picks:
FRIDAY:
- Live music and more: Thatβs what youβll find downtown at the Second Friday Wine/Art Walk. Enjoy live music at Pioneer Park by the Plush Band, plus merchant special offers and give-aways for those with wristbands ($10). While downtown, check out an art reception and show featuring landscape photographer Ron Piskorski at the Stiring Art Studios & Gallery from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
- More music under the stars: The Nielsen Starlight Concerts series is back with another night of sock-rocking tunes from the Rockaways. Young and old two-legged humans and their four-legged friends are all invited. Check out the Dunedin Doggie-Rescue (DDR) adoptables, purchase raffle tickets for prize baskets, and enjoy a Dunedin Brewery brew, all designed to support the DDRβs mission. This musical Yappy Hour begins at 7 p.m. on Highlander Parkβs Sindoon Stage, behind the Community Center at 1920 Pinehurst Road.
- Step right up and see the talent: The Dunedin Fine Art Center (DFAC) welcomes everyone to the unveiling of its brand new Louis & Valerie Flock East Wing. Also being unveiled this evening are three amazing exhibits that are sure to pique your interest. This delightful fall extravaganza kicks off at 6 p.m. with free admission plus tours of the new wing, live music, refreshments and fun for everyone. Β

- Calling all kids: Come see what young aspiring artists have been working on all summer at the Kidβs ART Fest, co-sponsored by the Dunedin Kiwanis. The DFAC continues its two-day FREE festival from 10 a.m. until 2.p.m. with games, food, music, tours, and hands-on activities. Thereβs also a special awards ceremony at 1 p.m. If youβre looking for something different to do, youβll find it Under the Big Top!
- We will never forget: The National Armed Services & Law Enforcement Memorial Museum (NASLEMM) helps ensure we never forget with a moving 9/11 display and special half-price admission. A trip to NASLEEM is a fitting way to remember the 10th anniversary of this fateful day. From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. adult admission is $2.50 and child admission is $1.50.
