Publix To Offer Coronavirus Vaccines In Pinellas, Pasco Counties

FLORIDA — Soon, Pasco and Pinellas County residents will be able to get coronavirus vaccines at their local Publix Supermarket.

Publix announced that it's expanding its vaccination clinics for residents age 65 and up to include stores in Pasco and Pinellas counties.

Starting Wednesday, Feb. 3 after 6 a.m., eligible customers can access the state coronavirus vaccine appointment site and schedule shots at Publix stores in Pinellas and Pasco counties.

Vaccination appointments can only be scheduled online through the state. Appointments cannot be made by calling Publix or the Publix Pharmacy.

Under an agreement with the Lakeland-based grocery store chain, the state is offering vaccines at a limited number of Publix stores.

Publix stores are already offering vaccines to seniors 65 and older in Bay, Brevard, Charlotte, Collier, Citrus, Collier, Escambia, Flagler, Hernando, Indian River, Lee, Marion, Martin, Monroe, Nassau, Okaloosa, Palm Beach, Santa Rosa, St. Johns, St. Lucie, Volusia and Walton counties.

In today's announcement, Publix said it will add stores in Pasco, Pinellas and Nassau counties, bringing the total number of counties to 23 with 325 vaccination sites.

“We understand how many people in our communities want to receive this critical vaccine, and it is our privilege to administer doses to the residents of Florida,” said Publix CEO Todd Jones. “With each distribution, we remain grateful for the role we are able to play in helping protect the health and safety of as many people in our communities as possible.”

At this time, Publix has announced the following appointment windows:

• Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 6 a.m. appointments will open up for vaccinations Thursday to Sunday (Feb. 4-7).
• Friday, Feb. 5, at 7 a.m. appointments will open up for Monday to Thursday (Feb. 8-11).
