• Missing Boater Found Dead in Lake Tarpon After Two-Day Search, Deputies Say – WENG 98.1FM, 107.5 FM & 1530 AM (wengradio.com) — Emergency crews including East Lake Fire Rescue spent two days searching Lake Tarpon before finding a 22-year-old boater dead Sunday morning, in what deputies say appears to be an accident. Launching from Lansbrook Lakefront Park, his empty skiff was later found drifting near Juniper Bay. Residents who boat on Lake Tarpon are urged to double-check life jackets, share float plans, and keep phones protected and charged.
