Roach Retires: Lemon Bay coach Darrell Roach leaves a lasting legacy (yoursun.com) — Englewood is saying goodbye to one of Lemon Bay High’s longest-serving and most beloved coaches as Darrell Roach retires from leading girls golf and tennis. After 45 years shaping students, building powerhouse programs, and nurturing junior golf and tennis locally, Roach is stepping back so younger coaches can carry on his legacy with Englewood’s next generation of athletes. 
2. Traffic stop leads to meth trafficking charge (yoursun.com) — An Englewood traffic stop at South McCall and Gasparilla roads led deputies to arrest a driver after finding marijuana remnants and a bag containing enough methamphetamine to qualify as trafficking under Florida law. The Sunday stop in the Gulf Cove area also revealed the driver’s suspended license, and he remains in Charlotte County Jail on multiple charges.
3. 7 Sarasota restaurants get high-priority violations, 14 ace inspection (heraldtribune.com) — Health inspectors recently gave Mimosa’s on South McCall Road in Englewood a perfect score, with no violations found during its latest visit. Winchester Ranch proposal got a re-work, North Port Commissioners seem to like it (yoursun.com) — A massive new Winchester Ranch development is being reworked just up River Road between Englewood and North Port, with fewer homes and far more commercial space and jobs. North Port commissioners heard rosy economic projections, but still must decide on annexation and work with Sarasota County before anything moves forward, leaving nearby Englewood residents watching closely for traffic and infrastructure impacts.
