• Video of disoriented turtle hatchlings crawling to hotel lights prompts backlash in Fort Lauderdale (local10.com) — Sea turtle advocates are calling out a Fort Lauderdale Beach resort after video showed 64 hatchlings crawling toward its bright lights instead of the ocean, allegedly violating the city's turtle-lighting code. The city can fine violators up to $500 per day, and only about a third of Fort Lauderdale businesses currently meet sea turtle-safe lighting standards, according to advocates.
