• Sand Sculpting Championships Are Back - Beach Talk Radio News (beachtalkradionews.com) — Fort Myers Beach residents can look forward to the American Sand Sculpting Championship returning November 19–23 at DiamondHead Beach Resort, with master and amateur sculptors from 10 states and five countries. Expect elaborate sand art, live entertainment, kids’ activities, vendors, and an amateur contest with limited spots. Tickets, volunteer sign-ups, and full schedules are available online starting October 1. 
• Fort Myers Beach residents weigh in on possible parking fees for golf carts and bicycles (gulfcoastnewsnow.com) — Fort Myers Beach residents are reacting to a new $163,000 Lee County plan to add 29 golf cart and 56 bicycle parking spots at the former Seafarer’s Mall site, including possible parking fees. Some locals welcome more alternative transportation access but argue parking should remain free, especially for bikes. County officials have not yet finalized what, if anything, cyclists will pay.
• Skater Makes A Strong Super Stock Statement (powerboatnation.com) — A recent Roar Offshore race at Fort Myers Beach saw driver A.J. Bogino and his father steer their new 32-foot Skater catamaran to an impressive fifth-place finish despite limited testing. The Ontario, New York team outpaced 12 other Super Stock competitors and earned praise from the boat’s builder. They now head to upcoming races in Clearwater, Englewood Beach, and Key West.
