• Florida man avoids jail after fleeing crash, throwing three children over fence (shorenewsnetwork.com) — A serious crash and child endangerment case that began near Fort Myers Beach has ended with a 26-year-old man receiving community control and probation instead of jail time. Deputies say he fled a reckless driving incident, crashed near San Carlos Boulevard, and tossed three children over a nearly six-foot fence before running away. The children were treated at a hospital, and he later accepted a plea deal in Lee County court.
