38,000 Blankets Donated for Children Battling Cancer
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) and Subaru will be donating over 38,000 blankets and messages of hope, written by Subaru customers, to patients across the country this year and Golisano Children’s Hospital has been announced as one if its 2017 recipients.
O’Brien Subaru, located at 2850 Colonial Boulevard hosted the Loves to Care display with “hope cards” that were filled out by visitors throughout the month of June. These cards will be delivered to the Golisano Children’s Hospital patients along with blankets and craft kits on July 10th. “The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is thrilled to be partnering with Subaru again this year on the Loves to Care program.” says Sherri Stitt of Leukemia and Lymphoma Society – Suncoast Chapter, “our patients love this program.”

There are an estimated 363,794 people living with, or in remission from leukemia in the United States and 62,130 people are expected to be diagnosed this year. As a partner in the Subaru Loves to Care initiative, LLS and O’Brien Subaru will spread love, warmth, and hope to children battling cancer in Southwest Florida.
