2. Legacy Harbour Reopens Following Post-Hurricane Renovations (marinadockage.com) — Legacy Harbour Marina along the Caloosahatchee in downtown Fort Myers has reopened after a $15 million post–Hurricane Ian rebuild and is now taking slip reservations. Boaters will find upgraded docks, utilities, and a new management system, plus the marina sits on the route of November's Fort Myers Boat Show and will eventually host Nellie's Boatyard restaurant.
3. Harry Chapin Food Bank unveils refreshed brand as organization enters new chapter (lakeonews.com) — Harry Chapin Food Bank is preparing to open a major new 110,000-square-foot Hunger Action Center in Fort Myers, greatly expanding its capacity to feed local families. Along with a refreshed brand and future Naples facility, the organization aims to better serve more than 300,000 Southwest Florida neighbors each month, including many in and around Fort Myers.
4. NAACP calls for Fort Myers Mayor Kevin Anderson to resign amid misconduct claims (winknews.com) — Fort Myers residents are watching closely as the NAACP calls for Mayor Kevin Anderson's resignation following public allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct, which he firmly denies. The group is urging a transparent, independent investigation, backing peaceful demonstrations and continued pressure at City Council meetings so citizens can get clear answers and the accusers' claims are fully reviewed.
5. Fall Fun In Southwest Florida (timesoftheislands.com) — Fort Myers residents have several ways to celebrate fall close to home, from Haunted History walking tours downtown to the Calusa Nature Center's fundraising Haunted Walk on October weekends.
