Lee County is urging beach-goers to follow detours, avoid swimming or boating near the site, and expect noise and vibrations as crews install new concrete piles over the coming days.
4. Three juveniles accused of setting fire outside North Fort Myers store (winknews.com) — Three juveniles are accused of tossing fireworks that ignited a merchandise display outside the Dollar General on North Cleveland Avenue in North Fort Myers, causing about $110 in damage before customers and staff put out the fire. Deputies say the teens then continued through the shopping center and near an AMC theater, and they now face arson and related charges in juvenile court.
5. News-Press Out of Fort Myers Continues to Give Florida AG Middle Finger Over Sweepstakes Casinos (gambling911.com) — Fort Myers readers are being told that the local News-Press website is still publishing rankings and guides for "Florida online casinos" even after the state attorney general warned major platforms about promoting alleged illegal sweepstakes gambling. The piece questions whether that coverage conflicts with Florida's stance, noting a recent lawsuit against Stake and ongoing access for Florida customers.
