The environmentalist who discovered it described signs of a very recent birth and urged beachgoers to respect marine life, avoid contact with dolphins, and help protect local wildlife through awareness and education.
2. Rescuers respond to urgent plea for 2 dumped dogs at construction site who had given up on life (newsbreak.com) — A Fort Myers–based rescue group is urgently fundraising to treat two severely neglected dogs found at a Florida construction site after neighbors had been feeding them. Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue rushed Nala and Baloo to a vet for intensive care, and they're asking local supporters for donations by phone, online, or mail to their Fort Myers address.

Fort Myers goalkeeper Zack Campagnolo earns MLS opportunity with St. Louis (winknews.com) — A 19-year-old Fort Myers native goalkeeper, Zack Campagnolo, has earned an early Major League Soccer opportunity on loan with St. Louis CITY SC after developing through Colorado's system and U.S. youth national teams. He credits his start in Southwest Florida for helping him reach the professional level and is now working toward his first MLS appearance.
5. MINI TAKES THE STATES 2026 kicks off in California, Launching 20th-Anniversary Celebration with a 'Remix' (imprintent.org) — Fort Myers will host the starting line for the Florida leg of MINI Takes the States 2026, a three-weekend national rally drawing thousands of MINI owners. Drivers will depart here November 13 for Miami and Key West, with concerts and charity fundraising for animal welfare along the way, and locals can still register to join the caravan.
