Eight handicapped patrons ejected from Society Restaurant.
Eight patrons with handicaps, 2 of them wheelchair bound, ordered to leave Society bar by owner and managers for being "unsightly."
Fort Myers, FL; Eight bar/restaurant patrons/customers with varying disabilities were ordered to leave the popular bar & grill known as Society Restaurant, over the course of the weekend of September 17th, 18th, and 19th, after the management and owner dubbed them "an unsightly appearance at their restaurant & bar."
Two of the patrons were in wheelchairs, three had possible Asperger's syndrome, two had cerebral palsy, and one had Down's syndrome. Reports indicate they were each seen there a different time of the weekend and were each told to leave by the owner and one or more of the managers and not go back there before any of them could even order food or drinks, 5 of them reportedly were there to watch the live music.
