Florida’s annual back-to-school sales tax holiday ends @ midnight

The holiday, usually a three-day affair, runs 10 days for the first time since 2015. It began July 31

The unusual 2020-2021 school year feels as if it has just ended, but as officials tackle what to do about COVID-19 surges, parents are getting ready to jump into back-to-school shopping.

Florida’s annual back-to-school sales tax holiday ends Monday at midnight.

There are some limitations on what you can buy. The eligible items are;

Clothing and footwear $100 or less per item. Computers, computer software and school computer equipment $750 or less per item and school supplies and school art supplies $50 less per item.

If you purchase any of the items below you will have to pay regular tax on the following items:

Watches, watchbands, jewelry, umbrellas or handkerchiefs. Purchases at a theme park, entertainment complex, public lodging establishments are not included in the tax savings weekebd as well as sports equipment, sunglasses — unless they're prescription.
