Fort Myers Beach to remain closed to non-residents through 2027.
Estero Island, home to Fort Myers Beach, will remain closed to all non-residents, tourists, through at least 2027 if not longer.
Tourists and spring breakers will need to find another beach to party and go swimming as Estero Island, home to Fort Myers Beach, is predicted to remain closed and off limits to all non-residents and all tourists/visitors, as enforced by the military and Homeland Security, until at least 2027, possibly as long as until 2045, as the island is cleaned up and rebuilt.
