Man faces murder charge for Wednesday night Shooting
The Lee County Sheriff's Office said Thursday they responded to a home on S. Riverside Drive where two men were fighting and one was shot.

Overnight Lee County Sheriff’s responded to a shooting on Riverside Drive in Bonita Springs. Upon arrival, they learned that two male subjects were involved in a physical altercation, the altercation escalated and resulted in one of the subjects shooting.
The other with a firearm suspect fled the scene. While witnesses rushed the victim to Naples Community Hospital in Bonita Springs. Medical staff at NCH were able to stabilize the victim, but due to the injuries. The victim was airlifted to Lee Memorial Hospital as a trauma alert.
Violent Crimes Unit immediately began to gather facts, a license plate reader was used to track him down to the Pine Manor area using real time Intelligence Center, which included the description of the subjects vehicle. Utilizing advanced technology, such as our extensive LPR system. The vehicle was tracked to the PI Manor area where deputies quickly located the vehicle and suspect.

The suspect was identified as 32 year old Luis Moreno after gathering the facts surrounding the altercation and collecting witnesses statements and physical evidence violent crime detectives establish probable cause to arrest for Marino, the victim died as a result of the injuries.
If found guilty Moreno will be charged for second degree murder, the suspect is currently sitting in a cell at the Lee County jail.

I've been crystal clear this kind of behavior will not be tolerated in Lee County. We will utilize every resource and every piece of advanced technology to investigate crimes like this one.
