• Corvette-driving Miami robbery suspect had victim's stolen pills 'in between his buttocks,' cops say (local10.com) — Lee County deputies arrested a Lehigh Acres man in Fort Myers while he was driving a Corvette linked to an armed robbery in Miami, later finding the victim's pill bottle hidden on him. Investigators say the victim was lured to an apartment, beaten, robbed of jewelry, cash, and prescriptions, and watched the suspects flee in two vehicles. The accused is now jailed in Miami-Dade without bond.

• Family Of Raccoons Go On The Offensive After Getting Stuck In Feral Hog Trap With A Florida Panther (whiskeyriff.com) — A Fort Myers-area landowner's feral hog trap unexpectedly captured a family of raccoons and a rare Florida panther, leading to a tense standoff caught on video. The panther appears to go in expecting an easy meal, but the raccoons band together and hold their own. The trap door was open, and all animals eventually escaped unharmed.
