• Fort Myers Beach pier reconstruction officially begins nearly four years after Hurricane Ian (abc-7.com) — Work is officially underway to rebuild the Fort Myers Beach pier, a longer and stronger replacement for the structure destroyed by Hurricane Ian in 2022. The $14.4 million project will stretch about 1,000 feet, feature a concrete deck and shade structures, and is expected to finish by late August 2027, restoring a key symbol of resilience for the beach community.

• Daviid Jackson's GoFundMe Profile (gofundme.com) — A father of three has launched a GoFundMe to help his family relocate to Fort Myers after accepting his dream job with a local nonprofit serving children. What was supposed to be a remote role now requires him on the ground by October 15, and donations will cover moving costs so he can start building youth programs for the community.
