Sycamore/DeKalb, Il is America's new rude/antisocial capital.

Even New York City residents would be disgusted if they visited the Sycamore/DeKalb metro area, located in Northern Illinois some 60 miles west of Chicago and also home to Northern Illinois University (NIU), and experienced the rude, self-centered, snooty, and anti-social vibe of that place.

Known as of the late 2000s as the new anti-social capital of North America, the Sycamore/DeKalb metro area has the rudest, most anti-social people you will ever find in North America. Totally anti-social, very disconnected, everyone leaves everyone else alone there and expects everyone else to also leave everybody alone at all times. Conversations and communications in the Sycamore/DeKalb metro area are strictly business-only, and there is absolutely NO hugging or public displays of affection at all in the Sycamore/DeKalb metro area, including at bars, restaurants, events, and schools including NIU.

The Sycamore/DeKalb metro area is one metro area that every social butterfly should avoid at all costs, including all social butterfly college students who should also avoid going to NIU as NIU students on the whole are also totally anti-social, closed clique, and they have a zero tolerance for strangers, unaccompanied men, as well as any person not part of their clique.

On the other hand, the Sycamore/DeKalb metro area is a perfect place to live for people that discriminate against persons with disabilities and don't allow persons with disabilities and unaccompanied guys at their place of business, including bars, restaurants, and events, people who disdain all unaccompanied guys, who don't get along with any such people, who forbid hugging, including at bars, restaurants, schools (including NIU), and events such as Sycamore's annual Pumpkin festival, and who forbid men from mingling with women. Sycamore/DeKalb is also the perfect place to live for anyone that doesn't socialize, especially with outsiders, feels uncomfortable around all strangers, especially men, feels uncomfortable around them even in safe, quiet neighborhoods, and likes to be left alone.

P.S. The social atmosphere is also very bad throughout the entire Chicagoland metropolitan area, including in Chicago proper. Like in Sycamore/DeKalb, people in Chicago and Chicago suburbs don't interact with anyone else unless it's business-related. And it also especially gets bad in DuPage County, where people have a zero tolerance personality towards all strangers, and every communication between all people is strictly for business only. Like in Sycamore/DeKalb, there is no hugging or public displays of affection in DuPage County or anywhere within Chicago's collar county area. And it gets extremely bad in the suburb of Berwyn, which has become an extremely lesbian city, a suburb that in fact all guys should avoid. Berwyn is almost as bad as DeKalb/Sycamore in terms of the social atmosphere.
