• DeSantis vetoes millions in Polk County. Here's what was spared (theledger.com) — Frostproof is losing nearly $2.6 million in state funding after Gov. Ron DeSantis vetoed money for stabilizing the Lake Clinch shoreline, the single biggest Polk County cut. While many Polk education and infrastructure projects survived, this veto means a major local environmental and infrastructure upgrade in Frostproof is now unfunded, despite support from the area’s legislative delegation.
