• Potbelly Sandwich Works plans new Manatee location. Here's when it will open (bradenton.com) — A new Potbelly Sandwich Works is coming to the Fruitville Farms plaza in Sarasota, giving nearby Fruitville residents another fast-casual option close to home. The chain is also opening two Manatee County locations around early 2027, though exact dates depend on construction. The Fruitville-area spot is expected to open later this year, expanding dining choices in a busy local retail corridor. 
• Land sale is off, but Sarasota Bungalow Village plan remains on course (yourobserver.com) — Plans to sell the colorful cottage block on Fruitville Road have been called off for now, easing worries for businesses along the Fruitville corridor. Still, The Breakfast House and Discover Sarasota Tours are moving ahead with their Sarasota Bungalow Village concept about a mile east on Fruitville Road. They’re renovating, seeking rezoning, and hoping to relocate historic cottages despite high moving costs.
