2nd Pinellas DUI Wolfpack Planned
Two operations are now planned for Pinellas County over the Memorial Day weekend.

Motorists planning to drive in Pinellas County this Memorial Day weekend are going to want to think long and hard about tipping back one too many if partying is on the agenda.
While the Florida Highway Patrol has announced a planned DUI Wolfpack for Friday, May 22, until Saturday, May 23, local law enforcement agencies plan their own DUI crackdown Saturday night into Sunday morning.
The FHP operation takes place starting at 7 p.m. Friday and runs until about 3 a.m. Saturday.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office and the Gulfport, St. Petersburg, Largo and Tarpon Springs police departments intend to combine forces on Saturday evening. The local agencies aren’t saying exactly when they intend to kick enforcement into high gear, but warn they’ll be highly visible Saturday night through Sunday morning.
“They will maintain a proactive profile over the holiday weekend on the highly traveled roadways of
Pinellas County,” the sheriff’s office stated in an email to media. “This operation is part of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s on-going commitment to reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage associated with traffic crashes related to impaired driving.”

The ultimate goal of the Wolfpack is to educate residents about the dangers of driving under the influence. Local wolfpacks are staged throughout the year.
FHP also has wolfpack details planned in Hillsborough, Sarasota, Manatee and other Bay area locations throughout the holiday weekend.
