Lights, camera, action! Gulfport’s annual Gecko Ball returns with the theme of "Hooray for Geckowood!" The Gecko Ball is an annual event leading up to Gecko Fest, Gulfport’s largest and most beloved street festival, held this year on Saturday, Sept. 1.
"Hooray for Geckowood!" is a celebration befitting Gulfport’s quirky, funky, artistic nature. The evening includes cocktail-hour appetizers, a full dinner buffet, a cash bar and cocktail specials, live music by Kevin Wilder and his band, dancing, live and silent auctions, a costume contest, commemorative posed and candid photos for sale, and décor that evokes the glitz and glamor of old Hollywood.
Land of Oz. A full dinner buffet also conjures elements of Oz's scenery and charm.

Costumes are encouraged but not mandatory. Glam it up for the red carpet in lush evening wear, or dress as your favorite movie star or movie character, organizers suggest.
