Fresh Market Darling to Open Gourmet Market in Gulfport

One of the Gulfport Tuesday Fresh Market’s favorite vendors, Jill Johnson of Mangia Gourmet, has a pile of rubbish on her hands at the moment.

Construction is well underway on her new take out café, deli and market on Beach Boulevard in Gulfport.  “Our customers had to navigate their way around the mountain of construction-related debris outside of Jill’s new place last week but the Market didn’t miss a beat,” according to the Market Coordinator Laura Garrison. “And it was wonderfully appropriate that the ground-breaking began on Mangia Gourmet during our Gulfport Tuesday Fresh Market.   Jill Johnson is simply a dynamo and her focus for Mangia Gourmet parallels that of our particular Fresh Market.  I’m honored she is part of our market and thrilled she will have a place where our community can connect with her during the week.”

Located at 2930 Beach Boulevard in Gulfport, Mangia Gourmet will feature a newly-renovated courtyard area with a distinct community-based focus.  Patrons will be able to enjoy a meal, listen to music, attend lectures and demonstrations or just socialize. “We promise to use the freshest ingredients for your meal.  Mangia Gourmet’s packaging is either re-cycled or bio-degradable, and we will keep everything as locally sourced and eco-friendly as possible,” states Johnson.  Mangia Gourmet will also feature locally produced items for retail.
