Miami Gardens senior arrested in hit-and-run that left motorcyclist hurt, cops say (local10.com) — A motorcyclist injured in a Miami Gardens crash was treated by Hialeah Fire Rescue medics, who declared him a trauma alert before he was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Police say a 74-year-old Miami Gardens woman left the scene after the collision at West 49th Street and 10th Avenue, later telling investigators she fled out of fear. She was arrested and released on bond.

Sweetwater Mayor José 'Pepe' Díaz Endorses Alex Rizo for Open SD 39 Seat (floridianpress.com) — Hialeah residents are part of Florida’s Senate District 39, where Sweetwater Mayor José “Pepe” Díaz has endorsed Rep. Alex Rizo, a Republican from Hialeah, for the open seat. With backing from Díaz and Gov. NBC6 survey shows many teachers think fear of immigration enforcement is impacting their schools (nbcmiami.com) — A veteran teacher at a Hialeah middle school says falling enrollment and fear of immigration enforcement are reshaping her classrooms, with fewer immigrant families moving into the neighborhood.
