• Heiress donates land adjacent to Hobe Sound Scrub Preserve (tcpalm.com) — Land next to the Hobe Sound Scrub Preserve is being permanently protected, thanks to a donation of 17 conservation parcels, including one bordering the preserve, to Martin County. The gift safeguards rare sand pine scrub habitat on an ancient dune and builds on earlier state-funded land purchases that created the 28-acre preserve residents enjoy today.
