• Passenger dies after pickup rear-ends garbage truck in rural Collier (naplesnews.com) — An Immokalee man riding in a pickup died after the driver, also from Immokalee, failed to slow down and rear‑ended a garbage truck on State Road 29 near Janes Memorial Scenic Drive Monday morning. The pickup overturned, the passenger later died at a hospital, and authorities note he is among at least 17 traffic fatalities in Collier County so far this year.
