Inside its Hail Mary bid to survive (miamiherald.com) — Killian Senior High, the main zoned high school for much of Kendall, has seen enrollment plunge from 3,700 students to about 430 as families increasingly choose magnets, charters, and private schools. Miami-Dade schools are betting on a new SportsPLEX magnet, built around Killian’s strong athletics tradition and sports-business careers, to lure Kendall teens back and avoid potential closure. Alumni and parents are rallying to support the school’s future.
