• Village Council punts on controversial zoning changes for a Garden District building (kbindependent.org) — Key Biscayne residents just pushed Village Council to delay a major zoning change that would allow a 14‑story tower to replace a three‑story building on Galen Drive. The proposal could reshape the Garden District's character and set a precedent for taller redevelopment, so councilmembers sent it to the Zoning Ordinance Review Committee for deeper study and more community input. 
• Man critical after being found unresponsive while snorkeling near Key Biscayne (wsvn.com) — Emergency crews rushed a man to the hospital in critical condition after he was found unresponsive while snorkeling near Key Biscayne, close to No Name Harbor and Fowey Rocks Lighthouse. Marine patrols pulled him from the water, firefighters performed CPR at the harbor, and he was airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center as authorities continue investigating.
