• Florida district breaks ground on new high school (asumag.com) — LaBelle is getting a brand-new high school campus designed for about 1,500 students, easing severe overcrowding at the current LaBelle High built in 1979. The $123 million project will add modern classrooms, arts spaces, and full athletic facilities, with construction expected to wrap up in December 2027.
   

• LaBelle orange grower forced to leave fruit rotting on the ground (winknews.com) — A LaBelle citrus grower is being forced to leave healthy Valencia oranges rotting on the ground because processors will only accept a fraction of his usual daily shipments. With far fewer juice processors left in Florida, he says local groves are losing both product and profit, and worries about the long-term future of the state’s orange industry.
   

• Hendry County Sheriff Arrests - Drugs, Probation Violations (blogspot.com) — Recent Hendry County arrest reports include several LaBelle residents charged with offenses ranging from probation violations to hindering law enforcement. The blotter, covering May 4–10, also lists arrests from Clewiston, Immokalee, and other nearby towns, outlining felony, DUI, and serious child-related charges.
