• State buys land in Lakeland for Sixth District Court of Appeal (theledger.com) — Lake Alfred’s Polk County Government Center is currently one of the main sites where the new Sixth District Court of Appeal holds oral arguments, alongside a courthouse in Orlando. State officials have now bought land in Lakeland to build a permanent courthouse, which will replace the cramped rented space and eventually shift more operations away from these temporary locations.
