2 Killed, 3 Hurt in Tragic U.S. 27 Crash; Injured Transported to Lakeland Hospital
BREAKING: Husband of one fatality victim and dad to injured pair is currently hospitalized in area recovering from an unrelated surgery.

POLK COUNTY, FL – Two individuals were killed and three others injured Tuesday evening in a two-vehicle collision on U.S. 27, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
The accident occurred at 8:45 p.m. near Collany Lane in the Frostproof area when a 2000 white Ford Expedition traveling north crossed the grass median and slammed into a 2006 gold Lincoln Town Car heading south along the highway, deputies said.
The Expedition driver, 31-year-old Jacquell Bradwell of Lake Wales, was killed, as was a passenger in the Lincoln, 71-year-old Kathryn McKenrick of Edinboro, Pa., the agency said.

The Lincoln driver, Kathryn McKenrick's son, Steven McKenrick, 44, of Lake City, Pa., and another passenger, his sister and Kathryn McKenrick's daughter, Janice Servick, 49, of Maumee, Oh., both suffered critical injuries and are being treated at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center, the department said.
A passenger in the Expedition, 28-year-old Angelica Hampton of Lake Wales, is listed in stable condition at LRHMC.

Kathryn McKenrick's husband and the father of Steven and Servick is currently recovering from an unrelated surgery at a Winter Haven hospital and notification was to be delayed until this morning when he was "physically able to receive the news," deputies said.
Motorists last night were advised to avoid the area due to the fatal accident.
