61-Year-Old Davenport Bicyclist Killed After Being Struck By Truck

POLK COUNTY, FL — A 61-year-old bicyclist from Davenport has died after being struck by a tree service truck Friday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 7:15 a.m., a Wright Tree Service truck with a utility trailer was traveling east in the driveway of St. Charles Plaza, 39883 U.S. 27 when the 35-year-old driver from Lake Wales turned left into the parking lot and crashed into the bicyclist who was riding in the crosswalk of the driveway.

The bicyclist died at the scene, said troopers.
