Canoe Capsizes On Mulberry Lake; Man's Body Recovered
The Polk County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a man after a canoe capsized in a lake near Mulberry Wednesday afternoon.
MULBERRY, FL — The Polk County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a man after a canoe capsized in a lake near Mulberry Wednesday afternoon, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
According to the sheriff's office, two men were canoeing at 4:37 p.m. when the canoe tipped over. One man was able to swim to shore, but the other went underwater.
He was found dead at 8:52 p.m., according to a news release from the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
