Herland: ‘Aldous Huxley Interview-Tech, Big Gov, Big Biz=Grave Danger’

From across the political spectrum, a growing number of thoughtful voices are warning against the nexus of Big Tech, Big Biz and Big Gov

“We hope that you will be inspired by The Herland Report’s independent analysis on important current events.” “Led by Scandinavian bestselling author and historian, Hanne Nabintu Herland, The Herland Report news and opinion website provides independent analysis, cutting through the media rhetoric. The articles should be considered as part of the bigger picture. Not all views represent our editorial policy. Permission to reprint is granted, provided full credit and links are given.” That is from the Herland Report website. Herland was born in South Africa and moved to Norway where she does reports on topics that periodically include the United States as well as Europe and other parts of the globe. I’ve checked in on her reports for some years and have shared several on MHProNews and MHLivingNews. Why? Because she and her associates are correct about this. The “bigger picture” does matter. With that brief tee up, this is a recent and timely item by Hanne Nabintu Herland.

Note that this writer (i.e.: L.A. "Tony" Kovach) is a political independent. I routinely take in content from across the political spectrum. While I might disagree with Herland on some things (everyone does, even biological twins don't think perfectly alike), it has been my impression that Hanne Nabintu Herland does her homework well before writing.

For those who find her thoughts shocking, I'll provide some items from voices across the left-right spectrum following this from her website. Some readers may say, well, I already knew some of this. Either way, IMHO, this is useful information. I'll explain why in Part II.

Aldous Huxley interview: Technology, big government, big business pose grave danger

Find out what's happening in Lakelandfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

As we now live in the billionaire controlled transnational system, accelerated massively by Covid-19, we are gradually returning to the feudalist structure of the Middle Ages as the few and wealthy own almost everything. And surveil it all.

The working class and middle classes will increasingly become the new slave class to the globalist, billionaire kings and lords of debt.

The nation state with its independent economy and politicians who served the interest of their countries seems but a relic of the past, writes historian Hanne Nabintu Herland in her regular column at World Net Daily...

Aldous Huxley interview: Engulfed in the Covid-19 pandemic, where lockdowns crush the national economies in Western countries, the Aldous Huxley dystopian scenario of totalitarianism seems ever more realistic.

In his world famous 1932 book, Brave New World, he spoke of various enemies of freedom – media propaganda, technology, the end of personal liberty, totalitarianism – that he expected would pose serious challenges in the future. He warns of the dangers of the bureaucracies of big business and big government.

The 1958 Aldous Huxley interview with CBS host, Mike Wallace, is worth revisiting. In it, Huxley addressed his fear of a coming tyranny and the innate dangers of the technological, highly organized modern world.

The World War II philosopher, Hannah Arendt is famous for addressing much the same topic in The Origins of Totalitarianism, as she analyzed how the totalitarian regimes of the 1930s and 40s were able to prosper so well in modern Germany.

In the CBS interview, transcribed here, Huxley spoke about the role of the media and endangered personal liberties: “television … is always saying the same things the whole time; it’s always driving along. It’s not creating a wide front of distraction. It’s creating a one-pointed ‘drumming in’ of a single idea all the time.”

In this dystopian world of dictatorship and genetic cloning, any discontent is quelled by drugs and entertainment, Brave New World tells. It produces individuals under medication who simply do not pose critical questions, and those who do end up in Huxley’s definition of Gulag.

Huxley speaks of how the bureaucracy, the media, technology and societal elites work together in order to create social pressures that induce needed false narratives into the population. These narratives are constructed to distract people from the real and important issues.

Huxley says to CBS: ”I do think that there are a number of impersonal forces which are pushing in the direction of less and less freedom, that there are a number of technological devices which anybody who wishes to use can use to accelerate this process of going away from freedom, of imposing control.”

He sees overpopulation and the mounting pressure of population pressing upon existing resources as a problem, as well as: “another force strongly operative in this country is the force of what may be called over-organization. …As technology becomes more and more complicated, it becomes necessary to have more and more elaborate organizations, more hierarchical organizations, and incidentally the advance of technology is being accompanied by an advance in the science of organization. It’s now possible to make organizations on a larger scale than it was ever possible before, and so that you have more and more people living their lives out as subordinates in these hierarchical systems controlled by bureaucracies, either the bureaucracies of big business or the bureaucracies of big government.”

Huxley further elaborates on the dangers of modern technology in the hands of those who desire control and power over the human race: “… take the recent and very painful history of the propaganda used by Hitler, which was incredibly effective. What were Hitler’s methods? Hitler used terror on the one hand, brute force on the one hand, but he also used a very efficient form of propaganda – every modern device. He didn’t have TV, but he had the radio which he used to the fullest extent, and was able to impose his will on an immense mass of people. I mean, the Germans were a highly educated people.”

In the Aldous Huxley interview, he says: “It seems to me, that there are methods at present available, methods superior in some respects to Hitler’s methods, which could be used in a bad situation. What I feel very strongly is that we mustn’t be caught by surprise by our own advancing technology. This has happened again and again in history with technology’s advance and this changes social condition, and suddenly people have found themselves in a situation which they didn’t foresee and doing all sorts of things they really didn’t want to do.” So, here we have an excellent description of the road to tyranny. ##

Part II - Additional Information and Analysis by L. A. "Tony" Kovach

Some may recall attorney-turned award-winning journalist Glenn Greenwald’s role in the revelations of whistleblower Edward Snowden during the Obama-Biden (D) era, but which also arguably reflected on the Bush-Cheney (R) era. Greenwald is from the political left. Yet, he is at times cited by those on the right because they think Greenwald is overall a fair observer and reporter. That said, these quotes from Greenwald are not only useful, but arguably support what Herland said in her recent article shown in Part I.

At some point, hopefully in the near term, I plan to share a report and analysis with Patch readers on the ground breaking documentary drama video posted below. But until then, posted below is a transcript and the full length version of the video (there is a shorter version, but it is not as good). It takes shots at both Democrats and Republicans, but it also takes shots at the military industrial spy complex, big business, and big tech. I've personally watched Shadows of Liberty, a multiple-award winning docu-drama, multiple times. As someone involved in media for over 15 years, I learn something from it every time I watch it. Grab your favorite snacks and beverage, and watch it instead of your normal streaming, cable, or broadcast video fare. The official trailer is below, and the harder-to-find full-length version of the video is posted in the MHProNews report linked below.

From Shadows of Liberty are these insightful pull-quotes.

Herland warns about a dystopian world that is a kind of mix between Aldus Huxley's insightful novel Brave New World and the disenchanted socialist author George Orwell's classic novel 1984 (Nineteen Eighty Four). Let's observe that to me, 1984 wasn't necessarily world class literature, but it was insightful literature. Most of the above is from the left, but from the right (to buttress Herland's argument) is this.

To see his remarks in context, the featured report linked below. https://www.manufacturedhomepronews.com/dirty-great-reset-secretthe-great-resetabout-money-and-power-plenty-available-for-ruling-class-elites-justin-haskins-heartland-institute-nbc-news-warren-buff/

Let me be clear. I would disagree with Noam Chomsky on several issues. But the pull quotes from Chomsky and his co-author Edward Herman in the classic Manufacturing Consent are well evidenced.

Our son is well educated. He's intelligent. He often quickly connects the proverbial dots. He asked me yesterday, 'how can you tell when something is true or when someone is paltering and being deceptive?' Excellent question. Before people who are undecided vote in 2024, they should get the tools that help answer that correctly.

Sharyl Attkisson is an award-winning reporter for left-leaning CBS News. She was apparently spied on by the federal government during the Obama-Biden (D) era. Attkisson offered these tips.

See Sharyl Attkisson's TedX talk and related tips on spotting paltering and other problems in mainstream news at this link here. https://www.manufacturedhomepr...

I plan to bring more insights from Herland and others because they present insights and information that can help people of good will who want the truth, instead of feel good half-truths or lies, to sort out reality from the manufactured narratives that Greenwald, Herman, Chomsky, and others across the left-right divide have been talking and writing about for years.

Let me leave on this closing note. Imagine you are a billionaire. You are an insider. You know the system is rigged. You donate to Democrats and perhaps also to "establishment" Republicans. You know that the public is increasingly figuring out that the system is rigged. You don't want to lose your cozy perch. What would you do?

Here's what Nick Hanauer, a billionaire, did. He started to coyly write and talk about it. Restated, he paltered, postured, and projected. Other billionaires have their own tactics, like 'giving' to charities that make them sound wonderful, even if the tax benefits and agenda of the nonprofits they give money too are advancing that billionaire's agenda.

See more on the above in the context of the song by Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac fame. Nicks owned a manufactured home. https://www.manufacturedhomeli...

Deception & Misdirection-3 Tricks-Paltering, Posturing and Projecting

The system is rigged, which is why about 65 to 70 percent of the population, depending on the poll, says they believe that to be true. When people from both major parties say the system is rigged, isn't that a pretty good clue?

Herland and others are shining a light on how that rigged system works. More in the days ahead is planned as this important election approaches. Stay tuned. If you aren't already registered to vote, in Florida, you can do so here. In other states, to register to vote, click here. ##
