WINTER HAVEN, FL — Winter Haven police, along with the family of homicide victim Demetrick Brown, hosted a news conference Thursday to urge anyone who has information about Brown's killer to come forward.

According to Winter Haven police, Brown was in a large crowd at a pop-up block party in the 200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard just before midnight on July 4 when shots were fired.

Officers found Brown on the ground and started life-saving measures before he was taken to the hospital where he died.
