Fentanyl, Cocaine Found In Bedroom; Winter Haven Teen Charged

A 17-year-old Winter Haven teen has been charged with 3 felony drug crimes after police found fentanyl, cocaine and other drugs in his room.

WINTER HAVEN, FL — Winter Haven police say they recovered a "significant" amount of drugs following a search of a 17-year-old's bedroom.

After receiving tips about drug sales, Winter Haven detectives said they served a search warrant Friday on the home of Zachary Depuy of 620 Avenue East SE, in Winter Haven, located 723 feet from Brigham Academy (Note: the 17 year-old is being identified due to three felony counts against him).

According to Winter Haven police, detectives found Depuy in his bedroom along with a black backpack containing 16 ounces of marijuana, 15.9 grams of a white rock-like substance that presumptively tested positive for cocaine, 28.7 grams of fentanyl, 51 oxycodone pills and 90 grams of "shrooms," as well as a firearm.

Due to past investigations that uncovered fake oxycodone pills sold in the Winter Haven area, the pills were swabbed and tested positive for fentanyl and heroin, police said.
