Tips Sought On Hit-And-Run Crash That Critically Injured Pedestrian

Around 1:10 a.m., the Polk sheriff's office received a call about a man on the side of the road of Cypress Gardens Boulevard.

WINTER HAVEN, FL — The Polk County Sheriff's Office is seeking tips on a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian in critical condition Monday morning.

Around 1:10 a.m., the sheriff's office received a call from some who found a white man on the side of the road of Cypress Gardens Boulevard near Helena Road.

Deputies said the pedestrian was on or near the road when he was struck by a vehicle that was heading east on Cypress Gardens Boulevard and turned right onto Helena.

There was no debris left behind at the scene, but the vehicle may have front-end damage.

The pedestrian was airlifted to the hospital where he's listed in critical condition. Deputies are still trying to identify him.
