Winter Haven Students DARE To Fight Drugs
DARE is a 10-week program taught to all fifth-grade students who attend school within the Winter Haven city limits.
WINTER HAVEN, FL -- Winter Haven Police Officer Kris Bhoj officiated the May 15 graduation ceremony for more than 725 fifth-grade students from DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education).
The celebration was held at Winter Haven Worship Center, 1835 Overlook Drive, Winter Haven. Since 1987, the annual DARE Graduation has been the highlight of fifth-grade students who attend Winter Haven elementary schools.

Project DARE seeks to prevent adolescent drug use and reduce drug trafficking by eliminating the demand for drugs. DARE provides students with the tools they need to resist the temptation to use drugs.
Fifth-grade students from across Winter Haven participated including Brigham Academy, Chain of Lakes Elementary, Elbert Elementary, Garner Elementary, Grace Lutheran School, Inwood Elementary, Jewett School of the Arts, Saint Joseph's Catholic School and Winter Haven Christian School.

More than 15,000 students have successfully completed the DARE program since its inception.
